The most common approach involves an anchor-shaped (inverted T) incision, which allows for significant tissue removal and reshaping. For some patients, a vertical (lollipop) incision may be appropriate, resulting in a smaller scar footprint. Breast reduction is performed in the operating theatre of a fully accredited hospital.  This procedure usually takes approximately 3 hours.

Following a breast reduction surgery, wearing a soft bra is recommended for the first 6 weeks. It is also important to avoid heavy lifting and strenuous activity during this time to promote wound healing. We will provide you with a personalised post-operative instruction and scar management plan.
